Why this matters

Marine conservation is urgent and growing — but the career routes into it are rarely mapped out clearly.

Whether you're a student, a career switcher, or a biologist wanting to go deeper into conservation, understanding the landscape is the first step to finding your place within it.

It's no surprise that marine conservation skills and knowledge are among the most searched topics on Conservation Careers — and demand for professionals in this space is only increasing.

Join Nick Askew and Dr David to explore:

  • What does a marine conservation career actually look like? From scientist to policy advocate to communicator — the full picture.
  • Which marine conservation pathway fits you? How to identify your niche using causes + roles.
  • What do employers look for? The real skills and experience that get people hired.
  • How do you get started? Practical next steps, including our new Certificate in Marine Conservation.

You'll also have the chance to ask your own questions live.
