Meet your trainers:

Dr Nick Askew

Nick is the Founder and Director of Conservation Careers and holds a PhD in the behavioural ecology of Barn Owls. He is also a member of the International Coaching Federation.

Over the past 20 years, Nick has worked across the academic, public, private, charity, and enterprise sectors, raising over £2.5 million for conservation projects across 120 countries.

He has more than a decade of experience in professional communications and marketing within the conservation sector, including leading global communications for BirdLife International, the world’s largest conservation partnership.

Nick is passionate about helping conservationists communicate more effectively, increase their impact, and strengthen their employability.

Lloyd Gofton

Lloyd is Conservation Careers’ Communications Expert in Residence and brings over 25 years of experience across agency and conservation communications.

He has worked in public relations, digital marketing, content marketing, social media, and communications strategy with organisations including WWF, Greenpeace, RSPCA, Médecins Sans Frontières, O2, Samsung, and Honda.

Lloyd founded communications agency Liberate Media in 2006, pioneering integrated PR, social media, and content marketing campaigns across the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, and beyond.

Since 2019, Lloyd has focused his work on conservation and animal welfare, supporting organisations such as World Animal Protection, Cheetah Conservation Fund, and Wildlife Heritage Areas. He is also a Director of two marine conservation charities: Sussex Dolphin Project and Blue Planet Society.
